ABOUT MODERN CAR KEYS
Most modern car keys comprise three simlutaneous functions, there is a mechanical key that will release the steering lock, the key contains an encoded ‘electronic transponder chip’ that is read by the car the moment you insert the key, the key also features a remote control, that will lock, or, unlock the car doors, and also turn off, or turn on the car alarm.

CAR KEY NOT WORKING?
Great Scotts can help if your car key fails to work, we can fix, repair, or replace car keys, and transponder keys, for, Ford car keys, VW car keys, Nissan car keys, Toyota car keys, BMW car keys, Honda car keys, and many more.

TRANSPONDER KEYS
If your transponder chip is broken or missing, the engine won’t start. Great Scott’s can repair or replace most transponder keys, Ford transponder keys, VW transponder keys, Nissan transponder keys, Toyota transponder keys, BMW transponder keys, or, Honda transponder keys.

In 1995 car manufacturers began embedding electronic, coded transponder chips in the plastic body of car keys were. The code is read the moment you turn the key in the ignition, as the chip is passive it does not need a battery, and should work perfectly for years in most cases. However if your transponder chip, or transponder key fails, then please contact Great Scotts who can help or advise on how best to get moving again.

MASTER CAR KEYS
In most cases car manufacturers have stopped using master car keys, instead car-specific security information is held in a central data-base, even so if buying a used car, check th ehandbook, and ensure you ar egiven all car keys, including a master car key, if one exists.

ROLLING CODES
Around 1999, car manaufacturers moved form a fixed transponder code, to a rolling transponder code, in order to improve car security. A car key with a rolling code, changes the code every time the car key is used. The rolling code feature is very difficult to copy.

If your car key has a faulty transponder key Great Scotts should be able to help.
